Beckwith Hills Christian Reformed Church
Sundays 10AM-Morning Worship
2100 Chelsea Road NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505
Welcome Home
Located in the Beckwith Hills neighborhood, we are a congregation seeking to live this mission through worship, studying God’s Word, fellowship, prayer, neighborhood outreach, and missions.
Our Faith
What We Believe
OUR VISION: Loving God by Loving People into our Faith Family
To love God with all that we are and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Through worship, discipleship, fellowship, and service, we seek to grow as followers of Jesus Christ and share His love with our community and the world.
God's Word
We value God’s Word as the foundation for all we do. As a church, we seek to faithfully follow Jesus Christ in obedience, empowered by the Holy Spirit and upheld by the grace of God. Our desire is to live in loving response to Christ, who calls us to walk in His ways. (John 14:15)
Prayer
We value Spirit-filled prayer as the way we listen to God, seek His direction, and receive grace in times of need. We depend on the Holy Spirit to intercede for us and align our hearts with the will of God. (Romans 8:26–27)
Worship
We value worshiping together as a faith family in ways that glorify God and draw people of all ages into the joy, peace, and hope of His Kingdom. In gathered worship, we encourage one another, grow in faith, and respond to God’s grace with gratitude and praise. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Relationships
We value loving people by honoring where they are in their spiritual journey and gently encouraging growth in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Following the example of Christ, we seek to walk alongside others with patience, compassion, and truth as we grow together in faith. (II Peter 3:18)
Justice & Mercy
We value obeying God’s call to love and serve those who are suffering from pain, loss, or injustice, seeking to reflect God’s heart and bring His wholeness to a broken world. We are called to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God as we serve Christ by serving others. (John 3:16, Micah 6:8, Matthew 25:40)

First-time guests will find Greeters near the front entrance ready to welcome you and help you get oriented. Wayfinding signs are also available just inside the main doors to assist you in locating restrooms, worship spaces, the nursery, children and youth areas, church offices, and more.
Music Style
Our worship is a blended style led by a worship team made up of musicians of varying ages and skill levels. We joyfully incorporate both the organ and a contemporary worship band. Each service includes times of prayer and the preaching of God’s Word, and at various times throughout the year may also include communion, baptism, and other meaningful elements.
Service Length
Our worship services typically last about 60–70 minutes. Occasionally, a ministry report or the celebration of a sacrament may extend the service by a few minutes
Accessibility
Handicap-accessible parking spaces are available in our parking lot. For those who need assistance walking longer distances, valet service is also available—simply drive under the front portico and a team member will assist you. An elevator provides access to all main levels of our facility and is located near the front entrance. A ramp is also available for access to the sanctuary level. For those with compatible hearing aids, a T-coil system is installed in the sanctuary. Assisted listening devices are also available upon request. Please see a greeter for assistance—we are happy to help ensure your visit is comfortable and accessible.
Communion
We celebrate Communion approximately six times a year, including during Advent, the First Sunday in Lent, Maundy Thursday, Pentecost, the First Sunday in August, and the First Sunday in October. Additional Communion services may also be held as initiated by the elders.
Coffee & Fellowship
Coffee, beverages, and cookies—often homemade—are available following worship for fellowship and connection. On occasion, we also offer special refreshments for various church celebrations and events.

WORSHIP
Our Worship Ministries offer many ways to use your gifts in service to God.…
Instrumentalists
Our desire is to glorify God through worship by incorporating instrumentalists of all skill levels and musical backgrounds. We invite those with a variety of talents to share their gifts as part of our worship services. Opportunities are available for rhythm band members, percussionists, orchestral musicians, organists, and pianists. Whether you are an experienced musician or looking for a way to use your musical gifts in service to God, we welcome your participation.
Singers
We welcome anyone who would like to participate in singing, whether in the Worship Choir or on the Worship Team. If you enjoy singing and sharing your gifts in worship, we would love to have you join us. The Worship Choir sings several times throughout the year, including special services and occasions such as Candlelight Worship, holiday celebrations, hymn festivals, and other seasonal events. We also welcome soloists, whose musical gifts are thoughtfully incorporated into the liturgy to help create a meaningful and seamless worship experience.
Worship Technology
Do you have a desire to serve both our in-person congregation and our larger online worship community? We would love to have you join our Worship Technology & Media Team! This ministry provides an important outreach opportunity by helping worship services run smoothly behind the scenes. Volunteers assist with audio, video, livestreaming, presentation software, and other technical aspects of worship. Commitment: Availability for setup and rehearsals Participation during worship services A willingness to learn and serve as part of a team Whether you have technical experience or are interested in learning, we welcome those who are eager to use their gifts to support and enhance the worship experience for all.
Visual Arts
Enhancing the worship space and creating an atmosphere that inspires worship is at the heart of our Visual Arts Ministry. Our volunteers work together to reflect the seasons of the Church Year—such as Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter—as well as special moments in the life of the congregation. Using elements such as lighting, fabrics, banners, visual displays, and other creative decorations, the team helps transform the worship space into a welcoming environment that encourages reflection, inspiration, and praise. If you enjoy creativity, design, decorating, or working with your hands, we invite you to share your gifts as part of this ministry. Together, we create spaces that help worshippers feel welcomed, engaged, and inspired to encounter God in worship.
Worship Leadership
Do you have the gift of public speaking or the spiritual gifts of prayer and intercession? We invite you to share those gifts as part of our Worship Leadership Ministry. Volunteers serve in a variety of ways, including reading Scripture, participating in dramatic Scripture readings, offering prayers during worship, and, on occasion, assisting with leading worship for special services and events. This ministry provides meaningful opportunities to help lead the congregation in worship, prayer, and reflection on God's Word. If you feel called to serve in this way, we would be delighted to help you become involved.

Steve & Sandra Brauning
We envision a family of Spirit-led ministries in the Dominican Republic (DR) and Haiti that are used by God to transform lives, communities, and society.
Jeong & MiSook Gho
We want to see more people coming to Jesus Christ, because our Father in heaven desires it. We go to Japan and beyond to share God’s love. We are called by God and sent by you to invite people to Jesus. Together with you, we want to see God’s dream fulfilled in Japan and beyond. God has reconciled us to Him through Christ Jesus, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:20). So, we are working hard to share the love of Jesus Christ. This is the second vision that God put into our hearts. We need your prayers and support to continue our work in Japan and beyond for the glory of the Lord.
Dr. Sosthene & Kara Maletoungou
Sosthene and Kara engage with teachers, school administrators and church leaders through biblical worldview and integration training, coaching and mentoring not only to explore answers to these questions, but to also live them out in their practices for holistic transformation. This is tangibly expressed through their ministries with ACSI where Sosthene serves as the Africa Director, and the Teacher's Garden, a Christian education resource center that seeks to develop the full potential of local teachers for an integrated and culturally relevant Christ centered education.
Celebration Fellowship Church (Rev. Bob Arbogast)
Celebration Fellowship is a Christ-centered, multi-site church rooted in long-term presence, shared worship, and faithful relationships. Based in Ionia, Michigan, we gather as one community across multiple locations: inside Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility, Handlon Correctional Facility, the Bellamy Creek Dorms, and in the community after release.
